Sherpa Films is a full-service production house, involved in every aspect of the filmmaking process from script to screen. Owner/operator Vance Holmes, an Emmy-nominated cinematographer with over 25 years of experience in the film and television industry, is also the owner of Film and Video Support Services, which provides camera rentals with packages ranging from 35mm and Super 16 to the latest in HD technology, along with support. In addition, Vance has 20 years experience with specialty camera systems, including cranes, car mounts, aerial and underwater photography. Vance delivers the director's visual language with an acute understanding of lighting and camera techniques, as well as an eye for craft and detail.

 

Vance has worked alongside award-winning directors such as Richard Linklater, Quentin Tarantino and Terrence Malick. Throughout his career he has worked on documentaries, feature films, network series and commercials, which have aired on numerous networks including National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, HBO, Showtime, ABC, CBS and NBC. His extensive work abroad with various formats and mediums, as well as his domestic credits, have earned him numerous Telly & Addy awards. Vance is a member of Cinematographers Union Local 600.
